1955 Marx, White's Tractor Trailer Truck in Original Box

1955 Marx, White's Tractor Trailer Truck in Original Box

Gorgeous steel litho "White's The Home Of Greater Values" tractor trailer truck manufactured by Marx. In remarkable excellent+ to near mint condition it comes complete with original box. White's, now known as White's Fresh Foods, is a 57-year-old retail grocery store chain based in Johnson City, Tenn. Marx produced this truck only three years after the companys inception. Most were made available to White's employee's. Few were sold publicly. As recently as January 29, 2009, the White's chain was sold to Houchens Industries, a Kentucky-based supermarket company.

Over 2ft. long and beautifully designed in brilliant red with white lettering, white rear doors, and silver roof with black striping. It's interesting that the factory applied red lithoed trailer is slightly more orange than the cab. It's all steel litho except for the six tread tires which are polyethylene with metal hubs. Features separately tabbed front grille assembly, dual gas tanks with lithoed caps, and tight rear doors. The doors meet precisely to lay flat and remain shut. The tires haven't any rim wear.

The huge white box has red printed text on every panel and no illustrations. Catalog number, Marx trademark, and address were included. One set of endflaps is still factory sealed.

Size: 25" x 8½" x 6½". Weight 5lbs.
